YIELD: Makes 6INGREDIENTS:
- 10.58 oz (300 grams) of plain flour
- 5.33 oz (150 grams) butter
- 3.52 oz (100 grams) of fine sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
FOR THE FILLING:
- nutella as needed (or your favorite chocolate cream)
- icing sugar as needes
- colourful sweet easter eggs as needed
METHOD:1. Place the flour and salt and baking powder in a medium sized bowl.2. Add in the butter and rub into the flour with the help of your fingers until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Add in the sugar.3. Next add in the egg. Bring the mixture together using your fingers.4. Transfer the mixture into a clean working surface and knead into a smooth dough.5.Wrap in cling film and leave to rest for 20 minutes.6. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin and then cut into 4 inches circles. The dough is sticky so you can use a grease proof paper underneath to facilitate the rolling process.7.Using a sharp knife, make slits all along the edge of each circle and then join the coinciding edges together.8. Arrange inside cup cake tins measuring 1.5 inch in diameter9. Fill each nest with nutella and sprinkle with icing sugar and colourful sweet easter eggs.Bake in a hot oven at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.
For the filling you can use nutella, chocolate cream or your favourite jam.
