DRUNK APPLE CAKE (TORTA DI MELE UBRIACA)

Drunk Apple Cake is a dessert with an intense aroma and is really very tasty.

 


It’s an ideal dessert for Sundays at the end of a special meal.

Making it at home is quick and easy, and it is sure to win you over..

INGREDIENTS:

9 inches baking pan

 

  • 1/2 cup of rum
  • 10 oz of apples
  • 5 tbsp of milk
  • 1 cup of sunflower seed oil
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp of baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • icing sugar for the finish ( to taste)

 

 

DIRECTIONS:

Peel and cut the apples, half thinly sliced, half cubed.

Pour the  rum into the milk and heat until pre-boiling.
Heat oil and sugar, let cool then pour into a bowl.
Add sifted flour with baking powder and mix, add egg, milk with rum.
Mix well.
Pour 1/3 of the dough into a buttered and floured pan, cover with diced apples.

Pour another 1/3 of the dough and cover with the apple slices, finish with the rest of the dough.

Bake in a hot oven at 340 F for 50′ , always do the toothpick test.

Sprinkle with icing sugar
