How to Make SOFT APPLE & ORANGE CAKE

Delicious cake that will appeal to young and old; to, eat at breakfast and snack!!!!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 5 apples
  • 1¾ cups of flour
  • 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil
  • milk to soften
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice
  • Grated rind of 1 orange
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder

 

To decorate:

  • Brown Sugar
  • Icing sugar
  • Sliced apples

 

DIRECTIONS:

Preheated oven at 350 F for 50/60 minutes.

Oil the baking dish.

Separate the yolks from the egg whites, placing them in two different bowls.

Set the egg whites aside you will need to process them later.

In the bowl where the 3 yolks are, add the 1 cup of brown sugar, working for at least 5 minutes, using an electric whisk.

Working your egg and sugar mixture for about 5 minutes you will get a soft and slightly high cake!!!

To the egg and sugar mixture add the 1/2 cup  of orange juice.

Then add little by little the 1¾ cups of flour, when you see that your mixture becomes hard, soften it by adding little by little some milk.

Your mixture should be soft and creamy, add the vanilla extract and baking powder to the mixture.

Peel and chop the 3 apples, squeeze the juice of a piece of lemon to prevent them from turning black.

Peel and slice 2 apples, you will need them to decorate the cake !!!!

Whip the egg whites, you will know they are ready when they are stiff.

Add the egg whites to your mixture and to prevent them from disassembling mix from the bottom up and finally pour the apples in pieces, mixing everything vigorously!

Pour the mixture into the pan, the surface of the cake decorate it with the 2 sliced apples, sprinkle with a little brown sugar.

Bake it at 350 F for 50/60 minutes!!!!

Once the cake has cooled, place it on a serving dish and if you like you can decorate it with icing sugar!!!
