ITALIAN BAKED “DEVILED”PASTA: FOR ALL SPICY FOODS LOVERS

Baked deviled pasta is the ideal pasta dish for lovers of spicy foods.

Pasta prepared in this way is really tasty and inviting, plus the recipe is simple and quick to make.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 cups of ziti pasta
  • 2 cups of tomato puree
  • 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese
  • 5 oz of spicy sausage (calabrian it’s good)
  • 1/2 cup of baked black olives
  • 4 tbsp of grated Pecorino Romano cheese
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil

 

DIRECTIONS:

Cook the pasta and drain it al dente, so a couple of minutes earlier than the cooking time indicated on the package.

Dice the mozzarella into very small cubes or shred it and set it aside to drain.

Dice the spicy sausage as well.

Cook the tomato puree with a drizzle of oil in a saucepan for about 5 minutes, leaving it very liquid.

Pour the pasta into a rectangular baking dish.

Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and add the rest of the ingredients: the black olives, diced mozzarella and spicy sausage, and of course the tomato sauce.

Stir well.

Finish by adding 3 tablespoons of grated pecorino cheese, mix again and level the dough with a spoon.

Sprinkle the entire surface with the rest of the grated pecorino cheese and bake at 350 F, letting it bake for 30 minutes.

Take the deviled pasta out of the oven and serve them to your guests piping hot.
