Quick Tips:

Here are some tips to help you make the perfect spaghetti aglio:

  1. Use high-quality ingredients: Because spaghetti aglio is such a simple dish, it’s important to use high-quality ingredients. Use fresh garlic, good-quality olive oil, and high-quality spaghetti.
  2. Cook the spaghetti al dente: Be sure to cook the spaghetti until it is al dente, which means it should still have a bit of bite to it. Overcooked pasta can ruin the texture of the dish.
  3. Toast the garlic: Before adding the garlic to the oil, toast it in a dry pan over low heat until it is golden brown. This will bring out the flavor of the garlic and give the dish a nutty taste.
  4. Don’t burn the garlic: Be sure to watch the garlic carefully as it cooks in the oil. Garlic can quickly burn and become bitter, so remove it from the heat as soon as it starts to turn golden brown.
  5. Reserve some pasta water: Before draining the pasta, reserve a cup of the cooking water. This starchy water can be used to thicken the sauce and help it cling to the pasta.
  6. Finish with fresh herbs and cheese: Add some fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese to the finished dish to add flavor and texture.

By following these tips, you can create a delicious and authentic spaghetti aglio that is sure to impress.
