This fluffy cake is a classic that is always a favorite. It is very easy to prepare and also very fast.

You do not have to weigh anything because you use a 200 ml glass that we all have at home.

Also you can enrich it to taste with other colored fruits, such as strawberries, apricots, etc. …

Tip: dosing with a 200 ml glass

  • 1 1/2 cup of 00 flour
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/2 glass of sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • The grated rind of a lemon
  • 3 eggs
  • 125 grams of butter
  • Three large or four medium apples
  • Sparkling water
  • Icing sugar to taste




In a bowl, sift the flour and baking powder together.

Add the cornstarch and pinch of salt.

Add the sugar.

Grate the lemon zest.

Mix all solid ingredients together well.

In another bowl, mix together the eggs and butter.

Combine all ingredients in one bowl adding as much sparkling water as needed to reach a creamy consistency.

Wash, peel and chop the apples and add them to the mixture. Pour into a baking dish of 20 cm (7.87 inches) in diameter. Bake in a hot oven at 356 F for about 20 minutes.

Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
